Let your horses graze in the meadow just down from the dome, and take advantage of the BLM and National Forest trails to exercise them while enjoying the beautiful forest and mountain scenery. Often you can be out a whole day and not see another person!

Monarch Ski Area & Resort
Just an hour away. Take US-285 north to Poncha Springs, then US-50 west to the uncrowded slopes of Monarch.

White-water Rafting
The Upper Arkansas River, a world-class white-water river offers rafting and kayaking experiences for all skill levels. Less than an hour north to Salida or Buena Vista on US-285. Between Poncha Springs and Buena Vista you will pass a dozen outfitters for half-day trips or longer.

Golfing
Two golf courses are 45 minutes away, one just outside of Crestone, the other  in Salida.

Natural Hot Springs
Joyful Journey Hot Springs and Oriental Land Trust (formerly Valley View) clothing optional hot springs are both located just a few miles to the east.

Hiking and Camping
Just about everywhere you look there are trails into the surrounding mountains leading beside rushing mountain streams to high mountain lakes and to the very peaks themselves. Nine of Colorado′s 14000+ foot peaks are visible from the property, 5 from the dining room!

Fishing
Opportunities abound. For rivers, there are the Rio Grande to the south, and the Arkansas to the north. Numerous high mountain lakes are stocked each year. And Blue Mountain Reservoir, near Gunnison to the west, offers the perfect setting for the boat angler.

Hunting
This is the perfect location for the hunting enthusiast, both rifle and bow. Seasons include deer, elk and antelope (pronghorn deer), all of which can be found on the BLM land that adjoins the property. Colorado also offers special licenses for bear.
